WORKSHOPS

Amir has collaborated together with different organizations, institutions and schools in his art workshop.

In 2003 he worked with Oplysningscenter om den 3.verden from Denmark and Zuni Icosahedron, an art collective situated in Hong Kong in connection with the 'Black Box Project'. The project was part of the Images of Asia festival held all over Denmark. Amir visited 9 schools in both Copenhagen and Roskilde, involving around 250 school children aged between 9-14 in several workshops.

In connection to the Images of Asia festival, Amir also had a Batik workshop at Billedskolen in Copenhagen. Here, children from different schools in Copenhagen were introduced to the ancient asian craftwork of batik making. Besides creating textiles, the children were taught about different aspects of asian culture, like music and puppeteer.

Over a period Amir was connected to the SFO Tempotanken in Roedovre, where he taught the children to work with different materials, like collage, plaster and waste materials. One of the workshops ended up in an exhibition at Roedovre Bibliotek, where the children showed their own portraits.

In 2004 Amir worked together with Heerup Museum in the workshop called 'Junk Art and portrait drawing'. The intension of the workshop was to encourage children to produce art out of junk and waste materials - in the spirit of of the danish painter Henry Heerup.
